Cooking at the Kita Erdmännli

In today’s busy times, it is important to us to prepare healthy meals for the children. A healthy diet is crucial for toddlers as it plays a significant role in their growth and development during this phase of their lives.

Through a balanced diet, they receive all the necessary nutrients, vitamins, and minerals essential for their physical and mental development. A healthy diet also promotes the formation of healthy eating habits that can be maintained later in life. Additionally, a balanced diet can strengthen the immune system and improve the overall health and well-being of the child.

Therefore, in our menu plans, we make sure to cook meat (poultry or beef) twice a week, and the remaining three days we cook vegetarian. Fish is prepared every two weeks. The children are also allowed to get hands-on and help if they want. For our little ones, we puree fresh vegetable or fruit mash every day.

We place great emphasis on regional and seasonal dishes. We also pay attention to allergy-friendly and religion-neutral food. The avoidance of nuts in the first two years for toddlers is often recommended to reduce the risk of an allergic reaction. Nuts, especially peanuts, are common triggers of nut allergies that can cause severe reactions in some people. Since the immune system of toddlers is not fully developed, there is an increased risk of allergic reactions. For this reason, it is recommended to avoid nuts and peanut products in the first two years of life to reduce the risk of allergic sensitization. However, it is important to follow individual recommendations and instructions from pediatricians, as each case may vary. With joy, we prepare fresh snacks, delicious lunches, and imaginative afternoon snacks for our children.

Whenever possible, we buy from local farmers and enjoy the freshly harvested vegetables, fruits, and berries.

Enjoy your meal!
